I am Mason who created Alocasia “VENOM”

베놈의 입꼬리를 닮아 붙어진 이름이며, 

작년 많은 분들이 직접 실물로 보셨으면 하는 마음에 오프라인 식물마켓에서 선보이고 난 후 부터 큰 인기를 갖게 되었습니다.

사진으로는 표현의 한계가 있고 직접 눈으로 보시면 깊은 펄감과 웅장한 포스에 매료되는 식물입니다.

The name "VENOM” was given because the leaf tip resembles the mouth of the villain “Venom”. 

It gained great popularity after being introduced at offline plant markets in 2022.

“VENOM” is fascinating with its deep cosmic pearly texture and majestic presence, which is difficult to express in photos.

KOREA ORIGINAL MUTANT SPECIES “ VENOM “

베놈은 국내에서 변이종이 발견되었고, 번식과 증식을 통해도 짙은 은색펄감과 휘어지는 잎꼬리의 특성이 고정되어 수 세대를 거쳐 현재 자리매김 한 개체입니다

“VENOM” is a mutant species that was discovered in Korea. 

The characteristics - deep cosmic pearly texture and curled leaf tip - have been fixed through reproduction and propagation, and it has established itself over several generations.

유묘에서 펄감이 묻어나오는 시기.

THE TIME WHEN THE COSMIC PEARLY TEXTURE APPEARS

자구에서 깨어난 뒤 5장~6장 정도 내어준 뒤 실버 펄 가득 묻어 올라오는 신엽입니다.

대략적으로 실버 펄이 나오는 기간은 개체마다 다르긴 하겠지만, 빠르면 2달에서 보통 3달 정도 케어를 거치면 이런 식으로 펄감 묻어 나오는 베놈 본연의 잎장을 볼 수 있게 됩니다

The cosmic pearly texture emerges after the corm have sprouted and produced 5 to 6 leaves. 

The period when the characteristics varies from plant to plant, but it usually takes 2 to 3 months of care to see the original leaves of Venom with the cosmic pearly texture.

귀가 붙어있는 잎장이 나올 수도 있고 모여져있는 가오리폼이 나올 수도 있습니다.

이건 환경에 따라 잎장은 달라지는 거 같아요 ㅎ

현재 유통되고 있는 베놈들의 카더라 중 가오리폼, 또는 네로우폼이라고 불리는 말들은 사실 그 당시 잎장의 모양일 뿐이지 폼에 대한 고정성은 없습니다!

왜냐하면 현재까지 전 세계에 자리 잡고 있는 베놈의 개체들은 5년생 모체 하나에서 번식된 개체이기 때문입니다.

The leaf may emerge with ears and may have a stingray form.

It seems that the shape of leaves change depending on the environment.

The rumors about Venom (Venom’s leaf Is stingray form or narrow form) are currently circulating,

But It is actually just the shape of the leaves at the time, and there is no fixedness to the form!

Because all the individuals of “VENOM” that have established themselves in the world so far are descended from a single 5-year-old main mother plant.
